Brock Race Engineering News Updates
21/6/2011 First Test
Today James had his first run in the Greg Murphy Racing prepared no 45 Supercar up at the somewhat cold and wet Winton
circuit, he was excited to finally get the chance to turn some laps in anger and see where he stood in the scheme of things.
The conditions weren't perfect but he saw it as a great opportunity to gain experience in constantly changing conditions which is the most
difficult to master, the car ran perfectly all day and the boys at GMR made him feel at home and comfortable throughout the day.
Peter Smith engineered the car for the day which was a great experience as the two used to knock around the pits together as kids when their fathers
worked together at HDT back in the golden age of Motorsport in Australia in the 80's, Peter did a fantastic job in getting James acclimatised and back into the
rhythm of how to drive on of these machines. He still has a way to go before he will on the pace but it was a great first step back into it.
6/6/2011 Return to Racing
Brock Race Engineering is excited to announce that James Brock return to race driving when he contests round three of the
2011 Fujitsu series in Townsville next month. After a hiatus of some 10 years of driving Supercars he will get the opportunity to drive
Greg Murphy Racing's chassis 45 which was last drove by Kiwi Champion and all round good bloke Jason Richards,
Jason steered the car to victory in race 2 of the Championship opener at Clipsal earlier this year.
While James is looking forward to the chance to compete again he knows it is going to be tough to jump back in after
such a long spell from competitive driving, and while he will not rule out anything he has no expectation af heading straight to the front of the grid.
It will be a great opportunity for him to build on his experience as a driver and a chance to familiarise himself with the technology and systems now utilised in Supercars,
being somewhat further advanced than when he last drove Supercars way back in 2001.
Bring on Townsville baby!!!! woo hoo.
16/8/10 Paul Williams ends his 2010 V8 Ute Championship campaign
Brock Race Engineering regretfully announces that Paul Williams, who has driven for us since the start of 2009 is leaving the team.
Paul, who took out rookie of the year in 2009 in the V8 Ute Championship has continued to made great progress and was looking forward
to a extremely strong finish for the season but has been unable to find commercial partners to help support his champioship assualt.
We wish the Williams family all the best in the future and would like to acknowledge the hard work all of them put in to Paul's V8 Ute foray,
with special thanks to "Big Ernie" who pulled out all stops to support his boy.
We had a great time working with Paul and the Williams clan and wish we met more people like them in our travels.
